Velores Peterson Seely

SeelyVeloresCropVelores Seely was born on August 26th, 1923 and passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2016. Velores was born in Mount Pleasant as the youngest of four children to Wilford (Bill) K and Mina Syndergaard Peterson. She attended and graduated from North Sanpete High and Snow College. On April 21st, 1944 she married Cherron Ray Seely and together they had four boys: Edward Kay, Scott Lee, Stanton Cherron, and Tom Ray. She worked for Safeways and Ship Service in San Diego during World War II while Cherron was in the Navy. She later returned to Mount Pleasant to start a family and where she and Cherron had a successful turkey farm.After her last child, Tom, was born she worked for Terrel’s Grocery until she retired in 2004. She loved spending time with the members of the Laicos club, being a member of the Elk’s club, and going dancing with Cherron where she made many great lifelong friends. Her favorite pastime was having her family over to cook for and visit with. She loved every minute spent visiting with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents Wilford (Bill) K and Mina Syndergaard Peterson, brothers Ferry and Ray, sister Blanch, husband Cherron Ray Seely, and son Stanton. She is survived by sons Edward (Linda), Scott, and Tom (Jennifer), 15 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 16th at 11:00am at the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery. In the event of inclement weather, services will be held at the Rasmussen Mortuary in Mount Pleasant (96 N 100 W). Online condolence rasmussenmortuary.com

CAMERON - Robert J. Simpson, 81, Cameron, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Cameron Regional Medical Center. 
He was born February 17, 1934 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.
Jay married Kathleen Truscott on September 30, 1960.
He was a Battalion Chief with the Salt Lake City Fire Department and he proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Jay loved to travel and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was preceded in death by his son, Cory T. Simpson; and parents, Harry and Edith (Madson) Simpson.
Survivors include wife; sons, Ben Jay Simpson (Mindy), Kingston, Missouri and Bradley Steven Simpson, Cameron, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Kristine Simpson; grandchildren, Erin Galbraith (Caleb), Jamie Patterson (Dusty), Brent Simpson (Kristie), Scott Simpson (Justina), Heidi Cunningham (Chance), Sarai, Apoima, Craig (Whitney), Mailey, Colton, Liana and Hailey Simpson; seventeen great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry David and Peter M. Simpson; sister, Paula Louise Matthews (Dene); and numerous nieces and nephews.
