David Wayne Beck, 64, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away July 28, 2018 at Utah Valley Hospital surrounded by his family. Born March 27, 1954 to Wayne George & LaRita Lucile Peterson Beck in Mt. Pleasant, UT. Married Lorna Rowe Beck March 5, 1994 in Mt. Pleasant, UT.
David had a great love of horses and was a jockey in his youth. He was a sports fanatic and his heart lied with the Dallas Cowboys and UofU Utes. He loved to go on vacations with his wife, spend time with his kids and grandkids, and their little dog Viena. Some of his favorite times were just hanging out with his sisters and their families. He cherished his relationship with his mother and father and dearly missed them.
Survived by his wife Lorna; children, Jacquie Wavra (Joey); Amanda Brown (Greg); Rodney Brown; sisters Diane (Kenneth) Lund; Lorie (Don) Hardy; grandchildren, Rylie, Ayden and Robert. Preceded in death by his parents and son Waylon Brown.
Funeral services will be held Friday August 3, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Mt. Pleasant 5th Ward Chapel (49 S State) with a visitation one hour prior starting at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.

Earlene Beck Hansen, 78 of Mt. Pleasant, UT, passed away peacefully January 28, 2018 at her home. Born July 16, 1939 to Earl Hafen & Ruth Olsen Beck in Mt. Pleasant, UT. She grew up in Indianola and graduated from North Sanpete High School and attended BYU. She married Gerald W Hansen November 6, 1959 in Mt. Pleasant, UT and they raised four children together.
Earlene and Gerald owned and operated the American Cleaners in Mt. Pleasant until they moved to Orem, UT. She worked for Wolfe’s Sporting Goods and then the Alpine School District where she enjoyed being a teachers aid. 
Earlene loved to garden, sew, crochet and cared for all animals especially horses. She loved spending time with her friends and family, snowmobiling, riding ATV’s, horseback riding and picnics.
Earlene is survived by her husband Gerald, children Earl (Kay) Hansen, Milburn, UT; Gerri Lee (Kevin) Adams, Springville, UT; Kathie (Scott) Bailey, Spanish Fork, UT; brother Allan (Betty) Beck, Orem, UT; sister, RuthAnn (Jim) Simon, San Jose, CA; sister-in-law Halene Fisher; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Tammie Hansen; brothers, Earl Duane Beck; Eldon Von Beck. The Family would like to thank Gunnison Valley Home Care for the excellent care they provided.
Funeral services were   held Thursday February 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W) in Mt. Pleasant, UT.
Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.

Thomas Lund Ericksen

1935 – 2018

Thomas Lund Ericksen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather returned to his Heavenly Father peacefully on June 17, 2018 at the age of 82. Oh, what a joyful reunion he is having with all he loved who preceded him in this earthly life.

Tom was born on August 13, 1935 to Henry “Harry” and Ethel Ericksen in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. He attended North Sanpete High School where he was class president and valedictorian of the class of 1953.

Tom served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern California Mission where he met a certain sister missionary, Sister Marlene Meyers from Salt Lake City. Upon returning to Utah they began dating and quickly became sweet hearts. They were married for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 19, 1958. They were blessed with 5 children.

Tom graduated with a bachelor’s degree from BYU in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. Tom worked as a psychiatric social worker helping many, many people for over 40 years. He worked for the State of Utah, LDS Family Services, and had his own private counseling practice. For several years he acted as Chairman and later as President of the Utah Diabetes Association and was Director of Camp Utada for many years as well. He diligently and successfully controlled his own diabetes for over 70 years.

He was a faithful, active member of the LDS Church. He served in many callings including bishop, high counselor, gospel doctrine teacher and home teacher. At the age of 42, he was called to be Stake Patriarch of the Butler Stake where he served for 32 years.

His mother instilled in him a great appreciation for music. He learned to play the piano, clarinet, saxophone, and ukulele. He formed a band while in high school and played at many events. He also loved to sing in any choir.

Tom is survived by his children Debbie (Craig) Petersen, Julie, Tom (Michele), Dave (Michelle), Wendy, and his brother Jed (Vickie) Ericksen. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Marlene) and grandson Kyler.

A viewing will be held at the Cannon Mortuary (2460 Bengal Boulevard (7600 South)) from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2018. Funeral services will be held at the Butler Hill Chapel (2695 E. 7000 S.) on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 am, with a viewing starting at 9:30 am.
