Marian Ruth Nielson Beck, 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 12, 2019, surrounded by her children at Alta View Hospital in Sandy, Utah. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah on September 29, 1934, the daughter of Ruth Gunderson and Grant C. Nielson. Marian was raised in Mt. Pleasant by her loving grandparents Anna Rolph and Vern H. Gunderson, after her parents divorced early on in her life.
Marian graduated from North Sanpete High and married her High School sweetheart Allan L. Beck in 1953. They were married 25 years and were blessed with four children Mark Allan, Malinda, Marianne and Matthew. 
After their divorce, Marian lived in St. George Utah and then Salt Lake City where she resided until her passing. After moving to Salt Lake City, she worked for Marriott in reservations for many years. She loved her job and the fun trips it enabled her to take with her daughters.
Marian will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her kindness and unconditional love, and was referred to by many as a sweetheart. She was an avid New England Patriots football fan and was a beautiful seamstress. She had a love for beautiful orchids, geraniums, fuchsia flowers, the colors bright pink & blue, Eternity fragrance, and most of all, a love for her family and friends.
Her children would like to thank all of her friends at Solstice Senior Living Retirement Community where she enjoyed the last years of her life.
Marian is survived by her children Mark Allan (Laura) Beck of Mt. Pleasant, Utah, Malinda (Scott) Overman of Draper, Utah, Marianne (Patrick) Davis of Pocatello, Idaho, and Matthew (Becky) Beck of Lindon, Utah. She is the grandmother of 16 grandchildren and the great-grandmother of 24.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16th, at 1:00 pm, in the Red Brick Chapel on 49 S State Street, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. A viewing will be held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery. Online condolence at rasmussenmortuary.com

Del Johansen


1938-2019
Del Johansen, Mapleton’s M&M Man, was happily reunited with his loving wife on Sunday, February 24, 2019. He was born on August 23, 1938 to Delbert “Whitey” and Leora Mower Johansen in Mt. Pleasant, Utah and had one sister, Donna Mae (Duane) and one brother, John Lee (Tonya).
Del married Sherry Kollette Skougard on June 7, 1958 in the Manti Utah Temple and together they had four children, Sherry, Ken (Jan), Karen and Kathy (Paul), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. Del was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived a full life of service fulfilling many ward and stake callings, which gave him great joy, especially Bennion Creek Camp.
Del graduated from Snow College and worked for and retired from Sears after 28 years. He enjoyed camping, cooking on the grill, snowmobiling and river rafting. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents, sister and brother-in-law.
There will be a viewing on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 6-8 pm at the LDS Stake Center, located at 970 N 400 E in Mapleton. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Interment will be at the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery (900 S 100 E) at 3 pm.
