Jake Lynn Stallings ~~~ Very Popular Young Man

June 14, 1981 — November 21, 2023

Pleasant View, UT

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jake Lynn Stallings, 42, who fought a brave and valiant battle against cancer. Jake, born on June 14, 1981, in LaGrande Oregon to Kevin & Debbie Stallings of Mt. Pleasant, UT. He  returned home to our Heavenly Father on November 21, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Throughout his life, Jake exemplified resilience and determination qualities that shone even brighter in the face of his disabilities. His unwavering spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. As a devoted husband, father, son and uncle. Jake's love and strength created a bond that will endure forever in the hearts of his family.

Early in his life, he was privileged to be the ambassador for the March of Dimes to fight against birth defects. Jake attended schools in Payson and Mt. Pleasant , and graduated  From North Sanpete High School in 1999. Jake had a deep and devoted love for music, and later in life, he shared that love to his students as a guitar teacher. He enjoyed all sports, loved hunting deer and roping on horse back with his family. Most of all Jake loved spending time with Nieces and nephews and all of his family.  He married the love of his life Lisa on October 14, 2017. Later they were sealed in the Provo City Center temple for time and all eternity on February 29, 2020.

He is survived by his wife Lisa, Pleasant View, UT. Son Tyler Fly, Nashville TN. His parents Kevin and Debbie Stallings, Mt. Pleasant UT. His brother Chet (Julia) Ft. Green UT. Jill Dimmick (Zac) Mt. Pleasant. Ali Ludvigson (Logan), Fairview UT.
His Nephews Keldon, Wayce, Tysen, Kole, Cray, Waylon, Wells. His nieces, Jaycee, Alissa, Kadie, Ava. He is preceded in Death by son Alex Fly, Grandparents Elden and LaRae Stallings, Lynn Beagley, Ralph and Ellen Steadman, and Aunt Mitzie, and Uncle Kelly Stallings.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant Stake Center (295 South State St.) Viewings will be held Monday, November 27, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services both at the church.

Bonnie Jo Simons ~~~ A Kind and Gernerous Person

 












October 29, 1934 — October 30, 2023

St. George/Mt. Pleasant

Bonnie Jo Simons, 89 of St. George, Utah, passed away October 30, 2023 in Mt. Pleasant, UT.  Born October 29, 1934 to John Laritz & Sarah Myrle Casper Jacobson in Park City, Utah. Married Orval Frances Simons December 16, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple.  

Bonnie was a Kind generous person.   She made friends wherever she went.   Bonnie was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.   She loved the time she spent serving in the Manti and St. George Temples. 

She loved to sew and always had a quilt on the frames to tie.   She belonged to the Laicos Club for over 40 years.   She had many jobs over the years but her greatest joy came from serving her friends and family. After Orval passed away Bonnie moved to St. George and made so many new friends that became her family.   They loved getting together to ride 4 wheelers in the desert, playing cards and just laughing and having fun.   She was a loving and kind neighbor and friend and will be missed by many.

Bonnie is survived by her two children, Clair (Julie) Simons,  Karen Harris; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Orval; siblings, Hal Jacobson, Dee Jacobson, Max Jacobson; grandsons Justin Simons and Branden Aiken. 

Funeral services were held Monday, November 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant 3rd Ward Chapel (295 S. State St.), with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
