William Clark Shelley

William Clark Shelley, or Clark was born July 23, 1940 to Elmer J. and Rega Clark Shelley in Mountainville, Utah. He was the second of ten children. The first of three boys and brother to seven sisters. Clark spent his early years working the farm with dad. When he turned nineteen he joined the United States military serving in the Army as Marksman. His hard work and service earned him two Good Conduct Medals as a Sharpshooter as well as from the National Defense Service. He was honorably discharged in April 1967.

Clark earned an associate degree from Snow College and began work in Salt Lake as a RV mechanic repair technician. He later married Vivian Kathleen Bawden in the Manti Utah Temple and became a step-father to her two children Bryan and Maria.

After retirement Clark moved back to live in the home he grew up in and became dedicated to family history work. He provided thousands of names to family members and the Church for Temple work. He also taught community members around him how to research their own family history and prepare names for the Temple.

Clark has always had a gentle and generous heart. In addition to family history, in the last years of his life Clark developed a love of sewing. His first attempts were rough but before long he was

quickly completing hundreds of chair cushions, eyeglass cases, and quilts. His creations were quietly and lovingly donated to those in need.

Clark loved his family. He would write in his journal about the gratitude and joy he felt spending time with them. While he and Kathy were not blessed with additional children, we are grateful for the promises of continued and eternal families in the eternities. He passed away quietly in his home December 25, 2025.

He is survived by his siblings: Veone Ontiveros (Limhi), Linda Davis, Patricia Bills (David, Susan Allred (Phillip), Douglas Shelley (Julie, Leslie Arnoldson, and Sara Johansen and stepson Bryan Christensen.

He was preceded in death by his wife Kathy and step daughter Maria Christensen. As well as parents Elmer and Rega, brother Darrell, sister Colleen Robinson and brother-in-laws, John Davis, Gary Arnoldson and Tommy Johansen.

Sara Renee Johansen (Shelley) was born August 23, 1956 to Elmer J. and Rega Clark Shelley in Mount Pleasant, Utah. She was the seventh of ten children; sister to three boys and six girls.

Sara grew up in Mountainville Utah where she enjoyed the family farm. She graduated high school and met John Christensen where she later gave birth to her son Brad. She later Married Kenneth (Ken) Mitchell and birthed two additional children Rebekah and Erin. In 1991, she Married Tommy (Tom) Johansen and gained two additional step daughters Jackie and Michelle.

Early in her marriage, Tommy had a heart attack while on a family camping trip. It was later discovered he had health problems resulting from his service in Vietnam. She then became a full time Mother and caretaker. Tommy passed away in 2013.

Sara met Lance Moore in 2016 and they quickly became inseparable. While not married it was clear they loved and took care of one another.

Sara loved being a full-time homemaker as she had a passion for sewing, baking and candy making. She crafted blankets, quilts, teddy bears, clothing, and more for family, friends, and strangers that stopped by. She always had a fresh loaf of bread, or a plate of cookies to share. A home-made dinner was always prepared for her family like clockwork- always by five and never after six.

Sara loved all music genres and singing. Family drives were often slow and singing to music was encouraged. She would call and sing to her children on their Birthday’s almost every year. She loved her children and family.

Sara had a funny way of ending a phone call. It was never a goodbye, only talk to you later, love you; that would carry on for another three or more rounds. Sara loved others easily and had a heart for everyone who crossed her path.

She is survived by her siblings: Veone Ontiveros (Limhi), Linda Davis, Patricia Bills (David), Susan Allred (Phillip), Douglas Shelley (Julie), and Leslie Arnoldson, and children Rebekah Adams (Scott), Erin Bodily (John), and step daughter Michelle Johansen and partner Lance Moore.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy, Ex-husband Kenneth Mitchell, son Brad Christensen, and step daughter Jackalyn Johansen. As well as parents Elmer and Rega, brother’s Darrell and William (Clark), sister Colleen Robinson and brother-in-law’s, John Davis, and Gary Arnoldson.

Mary Marie Ursenbach

With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Marie Merriam Ursenbach on April 15, 2025, in the comfort of her home in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. A devoted wife, nurturing mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, loving sister, and loyal friend—Mary’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, and a life joyfully and generously lived.

Born on May 4, 1931, in Manti, Utah, Mary was the daughter of Edgar and Vonda Merriam. She married the love of her life, Earl Jay Ursenbach, on August 15, 1953, in Orem, Utah. Together, they built not only a home, but a life of purpose, service, and community.

Mary is lovingly remembered by her children: Kathy (Alan) Rowe, Robyn (Bob) Norman, and Christian Ursenbach; her grandchildren: Nackole Norman, Tex Norman, Kortny (Edwyn) York, and Tyson Rowe; and great-grandchildren: Caden (Jake) Snow, Javon Norman, Jocile Norman, Keiston Norman, and Paxton Norman. She is also survived by her dear sisters Vonda Rae Poulsen, Diana Clark, and JoLynn Lund, along with her honorary sisters Suzanne Winters and Sandy Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband; her parents; siblings Drew Merriam, Anna May Thomas, Connie Hansen, Louise Kump, Wayne Merriam and Burdell Merriam; and her beloved grandson, Wade Rowe.

Mary lived a life marked by dedication and tireless service. Side by side with her husband, she helped operate their family-owned funeral home and provided essential ambulance service for the North Sanpete area—offering comfort and care in the most difficult moments of others' lives.

Her boundless energy extended far beyond her professional roles. Mary was the heart and soul of every community she touched. A proud member of several senior groups in Mt. Pleasant, Moroni, and Fairview, she also joyfully participated in the Red Hat Society, the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her home was always open—especially for a game of cards, where laughter echoed and friendships deepened.

Mary had an abiding love for nature and adventure. She found joy in the mountains, in long walks, hikes, shopping trips, and travel. And in true Mary fashion, she never passed up a good plate of French fries—her simple, guilty pleasure that always brought a smile to her face.

Animals found a champion in her as well; Mary was known for rescuing and caring for both cats and dogs with the same tenderness she showed all living things.

Her spirit of service knew no bounds. She was one of the most beloved and impactful 4-H leaders in the community, shaping the lives of generations with her wisdom and encouragement. Whether offering rides to appointments, lending a helping hand around the house, or simply being present with a listening ear, Mary’s kindness was as constant as it was selfless.

Mary’s legacy is one of service, joy, and deep, enduring love. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will continue to inspire and comfort all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W) Mount Pleasant, UT. Viewing on Tuesday from 9:45-11:00 a.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary prior to funeral. Interment in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery.

Dorothy Clark Russell passed away peacefully on Dec. 24, 2022 at the age of

98. Dorothy was born on December 9, 1924, in Georgetown, Idaho, the first of five children to Newell Sirls Clark and Meta Margaret Wunderli. After the accidental death of her father when she was seven years old, the family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she spent many years. She graduated from West High School in 1942. Her first job was at Snelgrove Ice Cream and then she worked at Eimac, a Division of Varian. She retired in 1983. Dorothy married Harold John Evans on December 11,1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. She and Harold divorced in 1962. She married John D. Willcox on November 7, 1973. Dorothy and John moved to Mt. Pleasant, Utah, in 1983, where Dorothy was very active in the community and in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers organization. John died of cancer in 1995. She married David A. Russell on December 20, 2001 and moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon, and then to Tigard, Oregon. David died in August of 2007. One of the special highlights of Dorothy’s marriage with David was their mission to the Washington DC Temple from July 2002 to Dec. 2003. Dorothy wanted to return to Utah, so she moved to Farmington, Utah in August of 2022.

Dorothy was a mother to five children, Larry (Joyce), Michael (Laurie), Kenneth (Sandy), Patricia (Charles) and Jeffrey. She has ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren with another on the way. However, with her marriage to David, she became the step mother to five children, Robert (Candy), John (Gerry), Cheryl (Dan), Laurie (Mike), and Howard (Pam), and 19

great-grandchildren, with many great-great-grandchildren. One of the great attributes of Dorothy was her ability to include with love all that she associated with. She treated the Russell family like her own, and they consider her addition to the family a tender mercy.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. She would on several occasions bear her testimony to her family at various get-togethers. She loved to read the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. Dorothy was an avid journal keeper. She served diligently in all her callings in the church; her most cherished calling was serving in the Manti, Utah and Portland, Oregon Temples. From early rural childhood days she exemplified the early to rise, early to bed routine.


All who knew her could attest to her vibrance, energy, and optimism. She was an original power walker, avid gardener, and demonstrated a strong self reliant personality. During her last moments on earth, it was clear she was ready to be reunited with her loved ones who passed before and her Savior.

She was preceded in death by her parents Newell and Meta Clark, brothers Paul and Carl, sister Margaret, son Jeffrey and husbands Harold, John and David.

A brief memorial and grave dedication will be held on Saturday January 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm. at Rasmussen Mortuary 96 North 100 West Mt. Pleasant Utah.

Louise Bagley Johansen Passes Away

Louise Bagley Johansen 1920 ~ 2011 A woman of virtue who dedicated her life to the Lord and endured to the end. Louise was reunited with her husband on January 4, 2011. Louise was the second of four children born to Orson and Myrtle Clark Bagley on November 10, 1920. She married her sweetheart, Grant Johansen, in the Manti Temple on October 24, 1941. He preceded her in death July 16, 1978. Louise is survived by four children: Connie (Terry) Ames, Mt. Pleasant; Dr. Joseph (Victoria) Johansen, Gilbert, AZ; Christine (Jim) Redford, Provo; Dr. Kent (Lisa) Johansen, Chandler, AZ., 20 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. Surviving sibling is Lavern Sorensen, Orem, UT. and sister-in-law, Evelyn Bagley, Koosharem, UT. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grant Johansen; sister, Beth Bohman, and brother, Garth Bagley. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the Mt. Pleasant Stake Center, 295 South State. Friends may call at the church, Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., prior to the services. Burial will be in the Mt Pleasant City Cemetery.
