Vicki Lynn Moss Larsen, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully April 13, 2025. Vicki was the baby of three children. Born on October 5, 1947, to Roy (Fat) Moss and Ileen Nielson Moss.
She spent her whole life living in Moroni, in fact, she lived in four homes not more than four blocks apart. She married Milton Larsen on August 27, 1965. They were just a few months short of 60 years of marriage at the time of her passing.
Vicki was very proud of their four children: Michelle, Keith, Ryan, and Skyler, and their eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mont Moss, sister, Myrna Moss Coates, and her two sons, Keith and Ryan.
We are honored to remember her incredible life and to be a part of it.
A viewing for family and friends will take place at the Rasmussen Mortuary, 96 North 100 West, Mt. Pleasant, Utah, Friday, April 18, 10 – 11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow. Burial will be at the Moroni City Cemetery.

Duane Allen Shelley passed away peacefully on June 16, 2023. Allen was born on October 14, 1935, to David A. Shelley and Geneva McArthur Shelley. Allen graduated from North Sanpete High School and then attended Snow College, where he played football. He also attended Utah Trade Tech studying heating, air, and welding. Allen married Phyllis Coates on June 19, 1965, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on March 2, 1974.
Allen worked in heating and air until he took over the family sheep farm. He spent many hours on the farm baling hay, moving water lines, and taking care of the sheep herd. Each summer he herded the sheep to the mountain for the summer where he would spend time with his children riding horses and cooking dutch oven meals. Allen loved his horses. He had several quarter horses, palominos, and appaloosas. One of his favorite things to do was go fishing. He bought a boat that he loved to take family and friends on to fish.
Allen served on the Mt. Pleasant City council for years where he developed many relationships with those in the community. He briefly served in the army. He was active in the LDS church serving in many capacities such as a counselor in the Bishopric.
Allen is survived by his children Abbigail C. Shelley, Mt. Pleasant, UT, Amanda S. Nelson(Skyler), Saratoga Springs, UT, and Chet A. Shelley(Nicole), Pleasant Grove, UT. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Boston, London, Graham, Jacoby, and Paisley. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters; David, Blain, Dale, Darwin, Melvin, Ned, Margaret, Marion, and Betty.

Doyce Lynn Coates, 76, passed away on November 14, 2021 at his home in Mt. Pleasant, UT. He was born July 23, 1945 in Mt. Pleasant, UT to Ray John Coates and Annie Burnside.
Doyce is survived by his wife Gloria J. Coates; his two daughters Laura Coates of Arlee, Montana; Brittany (Mostafa) Sargent-Hassan of the United Arab Emirates; his sister, Cheryle (Chris) Madsen of Syracuse, UT; two stepdaughters, Tina Carter of Las Vegas, NV and Robyn (Preston) Cox of Fountain Green, UT; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Doyce was preceded in death by his parents, sister Utahna Coates, son Doyce E. Coates (Dec), and stepson Alan Nielsen.
Doyce retired in 1998 after a long career with Questar Gas as the Southern Regional Manager. He was responsible for customer sales, system engineering, construction maintenance, technical service, and community affairs. Upon retirement, Doyce built his current home where he managed Coates Land and Livestock. He was an extremely hard worker and was never more at peace than on his farm or on the mountain. A sheep farmer his whole life, Doyce not only built his own sheep camp but helped many others with their builds. Every Labor Day weekend, you could find Doyce on the east mountain with family and friends at his annual barbeque. Doyce will be remembered as a man of honesty, integrity, and as having a sincere willingness to help those around him; a true Cowboy.
Please join Doyce’s family to celebrate a wonderful man and his great life on Thursday, November 18th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. A funeral for close friends and family will be held on Friday, November 19th at 11:00 am, both at the Rasmussen Mortuary. Burial will be at the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.

Bernice Coates Passed Away March 14, 2011

She was very active in the LDS church and served in many different capacities. She loved to garden and share her produce with family and friends. She loved to work on puzzles and always had a puzzle in progress on her card table. She was an avid quilter and she crocheted hundreds of Afghans for the church humanitarian program. She served as the secretary for the senior citizens program for many years and also served as a voting judge for local elections.
She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter; sisters Betty Eleanor Tuttle and Alice May Olsen; brothers Alvin Johnson, John Loften (Nina) Johnson, Kenneth George (Faun) Johnson, Glen Victor (Jean) Johnson.
She is survived by son-in-law Duane Allen Shelley of Mt. Pleasant; brother Ray Alfred (Kathy) Johnson of Bountiful; sisters-in-law Jean Johnson of Fairview and Nina Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Abby Shelley of Mt. Pleasant, Amanda (Skyler) Nelson of Pleasant Grove, Chet (Nicole) of Lehi; great grandchildren Boston Shelley and Jacoby Nelson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 22, 2011 at 12 noon in the Mt. Pleasant 5th ward church (Red Church 49 South State).
