Mary Marie Ursenbach

With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Marie Merriam Ursenbach on April 15, 2025, in the comfort of her home in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. A devoted wife, nurturing mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, loving sister, and loyal friend—Mary’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, and a life joyfully and generously lived.

Born on May 4, 1931, in Manti, Utah, Mary was the daughter of Edgar and Vonda Merriam. She married the love of her life, Earl Jay Ursenbach, on August 15, 1953, in Orem, Utah. Together, they built not only a home, but a life of purpose, service, and community.

Mary is lovingly remembered by her children: Kathy (Alan) Rowe, Robyn (Bob) Norman, and Christian Ursenbach; her grandchildren: Nackole Norman, Tex Norman, Kortny (Edwyn) York, and Tyson Rowe; and great-grandchildren: Caden (Jake) Snow, Javon Norman, Jocile Norman, Keiston Norman, and Paxton Norman. She is also survived by her dear sisters Vonda Rae Poulsen, Diana Clark, and JoLynn Lund, along with her honorary sisters Suzanne Winters and Sandy Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband; her parents; siblings Drew Merriam, Anna May Thomas, Connie Hansen, Louise Kump, Wayne Merriam and Burdell Merriam; and her beloved grandson, Wade Rowe.

Mary lived a life marked by dedication and tireless service. Side by side with her husband, she helped operate their family-owned funeral home and provided essential ambulance service for the North Sanpete area—offering comfort and care in the most difficult moments of others' lives.

Her boundless energy extended far beyond her professional roles. Mary was the heart and soul of every community she touched. A proud member of several senior groups in Mt. Pleasant, Moroni, and Fairview, she also joyfully participated in the Red Hat Society, the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her home was always open—especially for a game of cards, where laughter echoed and friendships deepened.

Mary had an abiding love for nature and adventure. She found joy in the mountains, in long walks, hikes, shopping trips, and travel. And in true Mary fashion, she never passed up a good plate of French fries—her simple, guilty pleasure that always brought a smile to her face.

Animals found a champion in her as well; Mary was known for rescuing and caring for both cats and dogs with the same tenderness she showed all living things.

Her spirit of service knew no bounds. She was one of the most beloved and impactful 4-H leaders in the community, shaping the lives of generations with her wisdom and encouragement. Whether offering rides to appointments, lending a helping hand around the house, or simply being present with a listening ear, Mary’s kindness was as constant as it was selfless.

Mary’s legacy is one of service, joy, and deep, enduring love. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will continue to inspire and comfort all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W) Mount Pleasant, UT. Viewing on Tuesday from 9:45-11:00 a.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary prior to funeral. Interment in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery.

Diane LaRita Lund

January 27, 1958 — February 13, 2025

Mount Pleasant

 Diane LaRita Beck Lund, 67 passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on February 13, 2025 in Mt. Pleasant, UT. She is survived by her children Kenny, LaTaya (Justin) Boylan, and Robert (Shelby). Her sister Lorie (Don) Hardy and grandkids; BreiLynn, Alex, Graysen, Adalyn, TayLee, and BreckLynn.

 Diane was born on January 27, 1958 in Mt. Pleasant UT. She grew up in a happy home with her parents and 2 siblings, David and Lorie. She loved riding horses and being involved in 4H. In High School, she was active in Drama and was a proud member of the cheerleading squad. After High School, Diane made the move to Utah County to pursue a career in Cosmetology. She had a deep love for doing hair and ran her own shop very successfully for over 40  years. No one could do hair like Diane.  Not only could she make your hair beautiful, she was also a listening ear to all. She was a wonderful friend to many and always made you feel at home. She was always happy to help anyone in need and made several house calls for people who couldn’t leave their homes. She married the love of her life, Bunz on September 18, 1981 in her parents beautiful yard. They went on to have 3 children together who they loved dearly and were so proud of. Diane was always involved in the community and had a passion for volunteering. She was active in the book mobile, boy Scouts, ran the voting booths for years, and was in charge of the kitchen staff for the Mt. Pleasant Pioneer Association. She was always willing to help! She had a love for bowling, cooking, camping, her grandkids,  working in her yard, and spending time in the sunshine. Diane had a love for life that was truly intoxicating and she always lived life to the fullest.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and LaRita Beck, Brother David, and Husband Kenneth Lund.

Kenneth D. Lund (Bunz)

 

 

Kenneth D Lund 71 born in Nephi, UT on February 7th, 1953 left this world with loved ones by his side on October 8th 2024. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Beck) Lund, Children Kenny, Lataya Boylan (Justin), Robert (Shelby), His siblings Dixie Riding, Dave (Debbie) Lund, Grandkids; BreiLynn, Alex, Graysen, Adalyn, TayLee, and BreckLyn. Ken or as everyone knew him, Bunz was a man of all trades. He graduated from North Sanpete High School as a member of the German Club, Tennis Club, and most preferred man (which he reminded his family of that often). After Graduation, he

had high dreams and followed them to California. He later returned home to Sanpete and met the love of his life, Diane. Together they spent the next 47 years creating a life and family they were proud of. He was a talented mechanic that managed his own shop for 30 years and was the best known mechanic in Sanpete County. it was not uncommon for him to do a personal pickup service for clients by picking their car up at their house, servicing it, and bringing it home. He had a love for Golf, Snowmobiling, camping, four wheeling, and spending time in the sunshine with the people he loved most. He was a friend to all. He truly had a heart of gold. He is preceded in death by his parents, Othello and Petrea (Taya), Step Farther Parley, Siblings: Hyrum, James, Doris, and Shirley.

A Viewing was held Sunday October 13th at Rasmussen Mortuary MT. Pleasant from 5-7 pm,  on October 14th. In true Bunzerelli fashion, don't be afraid to show up in a classic vehicle, old truck or street bike to follow him to his final resting place.

Jed Lund Ericksen

Jed Lund Ericksen died August 12, 2019. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah on February 7, 1945, to Harry and Ethel Lund Ericksen.

 Graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1963 where he was a three sport letterman and scholastic honor student. He received advanced degrees from BYU and University of Utah, graduating magna cum laude from each. 

Married Vickie Dawn Southwick in the Manti Temple. They are the parents of four children: Russell (and Chris) Ericksen, Ryan (and Ashley) Ericksen, Daniel (and Courtney) Ericksen and Brooke (and Jared) Lambeth. He has eight grandchildren. 

He had a long legacy of service in the LDS Church, having served in the Florida Mission, in the Stake Presidency of the Salt Lake Butler Stake and Bishop of the Butler 12th ward as well as multiple other callings over his lifetime. Jed’s professional career spanned 40 years in mental health service as an adjunct associate professor in the University of Utah School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and as Director of Psychiatric Emergency Services for Valley Mental Health and University Medical Center. 

He taught human behavior and abnormal behavior courses for the Utah State Peace Officer Standards and Training Academies for over 25 years and was instrumental in establishing and fostering Police Crisis Intervention Training (CIT Teams) throughout Utah. He was long recognized as the foremost authority on Civil Psychiatric Commitment law and procedure in Utah and taught Designated Examiner Certification for the Utah State Division of Mental Health for many years. Jed was extremely kind, gentle, wise, and selfless. We will miss him! Preceded in death by parents, 4 brothers, 1 sister.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 17th at 11 am at Lehi North Stake Center located at 650 E 3200 N, Lehi, Utah.  A viewing will be held Friday, August 16th from 6-8pm at Anderson & Sons Mortuary located at 6141 W 11000 N, Highland, Utah and from 9:45 to 10:45 am on the day of the service at the Stake Center. Interment following services will be at Highland City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Valley Mental Health Foundation or Utah Chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI-Utah).

Thomas Lund Ericksen :

Thomas Lund Ericksen

1935 – 2018

Thomas Lund Ericksen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather returned to his Heavenly Father peacefully on June 17, 2018 at the age of 82. Oh, what a joyful reunion he is having with all he loved who preceded him in this earthly life.

Tom was born on August 13, 1935 to Henry “Harry” and Ethel Ericksen in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. He attended North Sanpete High School where he was class president and valedictorian of the class of 1953.

Tom served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern California Mission where he met a certain sister missionary, Sister Marlene Meyers from Salt Lake City. Upon returning to Utah they began dating and quickly became sweet hearts. They were married for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 19, 1958. They were blessed with 5 children.

Tom graduated with a bachelor’s degree from BYU in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. Tom worked as a psychiatric social worker helping many, many people for over 40 years. He worked for the State of Utah, LDS Family Services, and had his own private counseling practice. For several years he acted as Chairman and later as President of the Utah Diabetes Association and was Director of Camp Utada for many years as well. He diligently and successfully controlled his own diabetes for over 70 years.

He was a faithful, active member of the LDS Church. He served in many callings including bishop, high counselor, gospel doctrine teacher and home teacher. At the age of 42, he was called to be Stake Patriarch of the Butler Stake where he served for 32 years.

His mother instilled in him a great appreciation for music. He learned to play the piano, clarinet, saxophone, and ukulele. He formed a band while in high school and played at many events. He also loved to sing in any choir.

Tom is survived by his children Debbie (Craig) Petersen, Julie, Tom (Michele), Dave (Michelle), Wendy, and his brother Jed (Vickie) Ericksen. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Marlene) and grandson Kyler.

A viewing will be held at the Cannon Mortuary (2460 Bengal Boulevard (7600 South)) from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2018. Funeral services will be held at the Butler Hill Chapel (2695 E. 7000 S.) on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 am, with a viewing starting at 9:30 am.
